exporting from mudbox and glowy

so i tried exporting the lowest subdivision mesh along with the normal map from mudbox into maya. still looks a little creepy O_O but a little better in udk.

the boots are were looking invisible so ive made the material two sided! when importing the fbx i imported the materials along with it so it set it up for me :)

why does he glow!?! 

i deleted the directional light just to get an idea of whats  going on and he doesn't glow... obviously as there's not light.
